A New Year and a New Blogging Schedule.

The SixLegsWillTravel blog has been a labor of love for over four years. I made a commitment during the first year to post once a week, and that’s exactly what I’ve been doing for over three years.

Although I have enjoyed the relative safety of being my own publisher – no rejection emails – it’s time to expand my horizons. As of this post, I will be updating the blog on a bi-weekly basis. That means there will be no new post next week, but there will be one the following week. And so it will go. I may occasionally miss two weeks because of travel or circumstances beyond my control.

What will I be doing when I’m not lovingly tending my blog? I will be pitching article ideas to online and print publications that will pay me for my work. Perhaps Simon will add links to my published travel articles, past and present so you can read them as well.

Another goal is to make my posts a bit shorter. I love details, and I love sharing them. Unfortunately, most of us are too busy to read 2,000 plus word blog posts. I’ll have to contain myself in order to make your reading experience more pleasurable.

As for you, my loyal and cherished readers, I plan to make the newsletter more interactive and useful to you. We are about to leave on a two-month  trip to Europe followed by a visit to China. This will take us to the beginning of May. It’s unlikely you’ll see major changes in the newsletter before then, but bear with me, it will happen.

I hope you will continue to explore SixLegsWillTravel and check out some of the posts you have missed. I also hope you will continue to follow Simon, Otto and me as we discover new destinations and the people who make them special.

What are your thoughts about these changes? Will you continue to spend time on these pages? Please let us know in the comments.
