And the winner is…

It has been 100 weeks since I began sharing some of the WOW experiences of the Six Legs and husband and photographer, Simon. Since then, I have written little else on this blog. Now, the time has come to move on. So this will be the last Weekly WOW.

When I came up with the idea, nearly two years ago, to write at least one focused piece each week, the goal was to force me to write something weekly. Fortunately, I managed to fulfill this commitment without missing a single week. The downside was that I wrote myself into a rut.

In order to fit the format of spotlighting a single building, food, libation or incident, I couldn’t stray too far from the subject that WOWed me. Also being the anal editor I am, writing the Weekly WOW post took me far longer than expected when the idea was first hatched.

During the last 100 weeks, you have been with us as we discovered Israeli wine and beer;

 and that is – just for starters.

There were many memorable travel experiences posted in this weekly feature. Now it’s time for me to write more “big picture” pieces of cities, towns, and historic sites, focused hotel and restaurant commentaries, reviews of our favorite road reads, and also share useful travel tips.

I am still committed to posting weekly, and am planning a monthly feature beginning in September that I hope you will enjoy. Of course, I’m going to make you wait a few weeks to see what it will be.

I hope you have enjoyed the Weekly WOW, and have been informed, entertained and inspired to follow in our footsteps and paw prints.

And now, as promised, here is the best WOW of them all. (Drumroll) Life. Yes, its what has made all this amazing travel possible. It is the gift we are all given at birth, and it will ultimately end one day. But between beginning and end, there is a wealth of opportunities for me to explore what all this life has to offer: the endless possibilities to learn, grow and experience on many levels. There are many ways to accomplish these things, and the possibilities vary from person to person. For me, it’s travel, and the opportunity to share with family, friends and total strangers what my experiences have shown me about the world and myself.

Please stay tuned. Because as long as I am physically and mentally able, travel will be my passion and purpose. I hope you will join Simon, Otto and me as we continue our adventures in travel.
